A hospital situated in Derbyshire has enacted new face mask regulations across a number of its departments, following an uptick in flu cases. Management at the Chesterfield Royal Hospital reinstated the requirement for all staff, patients, and visitors to wear masks, with the change taking immediate effect on Monday. The mandate has been applied within the hospital’s emergency departments, wards, and other areas designated for patient admissions. The trust stated that fluid-repellent surgical masks have been made available at stations positioned at all of the hospital’s entrances and exits. A spokesperson for the Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust remarked: “This is in line with a rise in flu cases in our hospital and in accordance with our agreed thresholds, which will be regularly reviewed.”
