Hibernian manager David Gray addressed the press as his team gets ready to welcome Ross County this weekend. The primary focus for Hibs, as emphasized by Gray, is securing a victory against County to climb out of the bottom position. He stated, “That’s been the key message all week, all we can control is that one game and the incentive is if we win we’ll go above them and that has to be the full focus.” Gray cautioned against allowing County, currently three points ahead in eighth place, to extend their lead. He acknowledged the potential for a formidable atmosphere at Easter Road when supporters rally behind the squad, but stressed that it is the players’ responsibility to “put on the performance levels” that will satisfy the fans. Gray also noted that County would likely attempt to “quieten the crowd,” necessitating his team to “start with intensity” to “get fans off their seats.” Regarding Mykola Kuharevich, the Hibs manager confirmed that the striker has sustained a groin injury, making his participation in Saturday’s match doubtful, though the injury is not as severe as initially feared. Addressing Kuharevich’s missed opportunities during the recent loss at Celtic, Gray underscored the significance of the striker executing effective runs and positioning himself correctly. Nevertheless, the Hibs boss conceded that the attacking third is “definitely an area that lets us down” and maintained that his team “have to be more clinical.”
