“It’s never a red in a million years!” Dan Casey’s controversial red card, issued during the draw against Kilmarnock, has been reclassified as a yellow card, making the defender available to play against Celtic on Boxing Day. Well submitted a wrongful dismissal claim to the Scottish FA after Casey was dismissed by referee Chris Graham following an incident with Kilmarnock winger Danny Armstrong, where Casey grabbed Armstrong’s chest. Graham was given the chance to overturn his initial decision by his video assistant but maintained his ruling of violent conduct, which Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell characterized as the “worst” he had ever seen. Due to his disciplinary record, Casey was facing a three-game suspension; however, a fast-track panel’s decision on Tuesday reduced the offence to a booking for holding or pushing an opponent.
