Damian Kinston, 27, has been sentenced to 21 years in prison after a jury at Swindon Crown Court found him guilty of multiple assaults against a child. Investigating officers described Kinston as a “sexual predator” and stated he displayed “no remorse” for his actions, while commending the victim’s “bravery and courage” throughout the legal proceedings. Detective Sergeant Kiah Vaughan, from Wiltshire Police, commented on the case, stating: “Kinston is a sexual predator who repeatedly subjected his victim, who was only seven when the abuse began, to horrendous sexual assaults with the only purpose to fulfil his own sexual gratification.” The jury found Kinston guilty of several charges, including assaulting a child under 13, multiple counts of rape of a child under 13, multiple counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, and multiple assaults of a child under 13 by penetration. In addition to the custodial sentence, Kinston was issued a sexual harm and prevention order, an indefinite restraining order, and has been registered as a sex offender. Detective Sergeant Vaughan further expressed hope, adding: “I really hope today’s sentencing will help her begin to move forward in her life, knowing that she has not only got justice for herself, but she has been instrumental in preventing others from coming to harm.” For updates, follow BBC Wiltshire on Facebook, X, and Instagram.
