Residents in Cornwall have been informed of modifications to waste collection dates during the Christmas season. Cornwall Council stated that these adjustments for the festive period aim to prevent certain households from “waiting over two weeks for a collection”. The council also announced that subscribers to its garden waste collection service qualify for Christmas tree disposal. The statement specified: “Households with a subscription should put their tree out beside their bin or bag on their garden waste collection day.” This marks the inaugural year that the council will undertake food waste collection for recycling from “most households”. Furthermore, the council confirmed that waste collections scheduled for Monday and Tuesday will remain unaltered. However, it cautioned that modifications to the regular collection dates will be implemented from Christmas Day through to January 4. A spokesperson commented, “We want to avoid anyone having to wait more than a couple of extra days.” For further updates, BBC Cornwall can be followed on X, Facebook, and Instagram.
