The construction of a specialized care facility for adults requiring complex health support has commenced in South Yorkshire. Named Springfield Vale, the establishment located on Perseverance Street in Barnsley is designed to offer care to individuals with various conditions, such as brain injuries, dementia, mental health disorders, and neurological conditions. Exemplar Health Care stated that the facility is projected for completion in early 2026 and will comprise 33 en-suite bedrooms distributed across three distinct units. Springfield Vale is expected to generate 100 healthcare employment opportunities and will represent the company’s third site in Barnsley, joining Dearnevale care home in Grimethorpe and Neville Court care home in Kendray. The available positions will encompass roles within caregiving, nursing, management, administration, and support services. Helen Lawson, Exemplar Health Care commissioning manager, stated: “Our aim is to make every day better for our residents by providing care that focuses on maximising independence, building everyday living skills and empowering people to live as fulfilled lives as possible. It’s our ambition for the home to be a place where our residents can be part of the community, whether through work placements, local events or volunteering.” According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the construction firm Walter Thompson has been contracted to undertake the development.
