Busy commuter train services experienced cancellations and delays due to a fault within the signalling system. Greater Anglia, the operating company, reported cable damage situated between Cheshunt and Broxbourne in Hertfordshire, resulting in blocked lines. The routes affected by these disruptions included those connecting London Liverpool Street and Stansted Airport, Cambridge and Hertford East, and Stratford to Bishop’s Stortford. Operator Greater Anglia extended an apology to passengers “for any inconvenience” after previously advising individuals to avoid travel. The lines were restored and reopened later during the afternoon.
