Colchester Zoo has announced the expansion of its aardvark family following the birth of a new arrival. The zoo stated it was “delighted” to welcome the baby on 23 November. This offspring represents the first shared birth for resident aardvarks OQ and Koos, and OQ’s twelfth offspring in total. Koos joined Colchester Zoo in October 2023, having been transferred from Chester Zoo. His relocation was carried out under a breeding recommendation, with the aim of him successfully producing young. A spokesperson for Colchester Zoo issued a statement, saying: “[We] are delighted to see that Koos has settled in really well and the pair have managed to welcome another addition to the group, helping towards the conservation of this species.” Post navigation Rare Black-Winged Kite Sighting Confirmed in Jersey Badger Burrowing Leads to £100,000 Road Damage in Lincolnshire
