The Northern Ireland Football Writers’ Association (NIFWA) has awarded Cliftonville striker Joe Gormley the Player of the Month title for November. Gormley notably scored seven goals during the month. The 35-year-old Gormley’s seven goals in November included hat-tricks achieved in matches against Loughgall and Dungannon Swifts. His club, Cliftonville, currently holds the second position in the Irish Premiership standings, having secured three victories in their last five league fixtures. Gormley, who previously received this accolade in 2013, expressed his delight, stating, “It’s brilliant to win this award.” He added, “It’s nice to be back in the team and back scoring goals again.” Gormley further commented on his performance, saying, “I always feel that I will score goals if I’m playing regularly. Thankfully, there are lots of team-mates creating chances for me.” In the same monthly award voting, Portadown goalkeeper Aaron McCarey secured second place, while his fellow team-mate, Eamon Fyfe, finished third.
