City Of Troy, a winner of the Derby, Eclipse, and Juddmonte International in 2024, has been recognized as horse of the year at the Cartier Racing Awards held in London. The colt, sired by US Triple Crown victor Justify, further secured Sandown’s Coral-Eclipse and the Juddmonte International at York, complementing his victory at Epsom. While City Of Troy faced defeats in the 2,000 Guineas and the Breeders’ Cup Classic, he achieved victory in seven of his nine career races. Aidan O’Brien stated, “he is the best horse he has trained,” and City Of Troy surpassed stablemate Kyprios, leading miler Charyn, and Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Bluestocking to claim the top honor.
