Charges of child sexual assault against a Metropolitan Police officer have been dismissed. Jamie Howlett, 33, previously of Horley, faced six counts of sexual assault by touching of a child under 13, with these charges being filed in July. According to Surrey Police, the dismissal of these charges, which pertained to two alleged victims, occurred because no evidence was presented. Additionally, Mr. Howlett faces nine other charges, all involving an alleged third adult victim. These include five offences of rape, one charge of controlling and coercive behaviour, one charge of sexual assault by touching, one charge of sexual assault by penetration, and one charge of assault causing actual bodily harm. His trial for these nine charges is scheduled for May 2025. The officer has entered a plea of not guilty to all of these counts.
