Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo has stated that securing a European trophy would represent “a dream” for him. The Blues have already secured advancement to the knockout stage of the Conference League, preceding their final league phase fixture on Thursday against Irish club Shamrock Rovers. Under Enzo Maresca, the team has performed exceptionally well in Europe’s third-tier competition, having scored 21 goals across their five victories to date. “It’s a competition we enjoy playing – so we might miss it until March, but we take each game as it comes,” Tosin commented. He further added, “It would be great [to lift the trophy]. To win a European competition would be a dream so we are ready for it. “We feel we can push on and get results all the way to the final.”” The 27-year-old defender has primarily featured in the Conference League since his summer free transfer from Fulham, having started four of the five matches played thus far. Nevertheless, he was in the starting lineup for Sunday’s Premier League victory against Brentford and conceded that Maresca was justified in his concern regarding the late goal allowed to the Bees. “The goal came at a time when we were a bit under pressure,” he stated. “We didn’t deal with the pressure the best in the last 15 minutes of the game. Those are the moments when you have to see out the game.” Adarabioyo also noted about Maresca, “He [Maresca] knows when you need an arm around you or when to have a go. He’s got a softer side, and he played the game as well so he understands us.” Post navigation Football Predictions: Chris Sutton vs. Travis Bassist Dougie Payne Statistical Overview: Motherwell vs Dundee United
