Following Chelsea’s dominant 5-0 victory against Everton, manager Sonia Bompastor expressed significant commendation for forward Aggie Beever-Jones, who delivered a standout performance. The England international, making only her third start of the season across all competitions, fully capitalized on the chance provided. The 21-year-old has now found the net in each of her three starting appearances this season, having scored the opening goal with a header at Goodison Park. This initial goal established the momentum for a highly productive night on Merseyside, presenting Bompastor with decisions regarding team selection, especially with regular starter Mayra Ramirez likely seeking to return to the lineup for the next match. “That’s the high level, you have to compete in the club and in the national team,” Bompastor said of Beever-Jones to Sky Sports.”She has a lot of quality, she is able to score and help the team to possess the ball. She just needs to trust herself more sometimes. “She will have all the opportunities to start games and to make an impact for the team so I am really happy for her tonight. I think it will be good for her confidence as well.” Beever-Jones, who previously played for Everton on loan during the 2022-23 season, narrowly missed opportunities to increase her goal count during a match thoroughly dominated by Chelsea. The reigning WSL champions have advanced to second place in the league table, now trailing leaders Manchester City by only one point, with an outstanding match yet to play. Additional goals were contributed by Erin Cuthbert, Guto Reiten, Wieke Kaptein, and Ashley Lawrence. This victory extends Chelsea’s flawless record under their new manager Bompastor, having secured wins in all five of her WSL matches. When asked about being the first Chelsea boss to achieve that feat, Bompastor told Sky Sports: “I don’t care about myself, it’s more about the team so I am so happy that we are able to win every game. “At the moment we did not win any trophy and that is my main job. As the coach I don’t care, it is more about the club and the team.”
