English golfer Charley Hull secured her first victory since 2022 by winning the Aramco Team Series event in Riyadh, achieving a final-round score of 66, which was six-under-par. The 28-year-old Hull commenced the third and concluding round trailing Slovenia’s Pia Babnik by two strokes. However, she gained the lead by making five birdies within the initial seven holes, a lead she maintained to secure a three-shot win. Following her fourth Ladies’ European Tour win, which complements her two LPGA titles, Hull stated, “I felt really sharp, I played very solidly.” She further commented, “I made a bogey on the par-five 17th and the par three, but that was just two three putts. [They were] quite long putts and they got away from me a little bit, but I felt like I held my game together pretty well.” She added, “And 18 under for three days is a pretty good score.” Hull, who holds the 15th position in the world rankings, finished three shots ahead of Denmark’s Nicole Broch Estrup. Babnik, after a challenging round of 73, placed third. Fatima Fernandez Cano, who on Friday had a birdie putt that would have equalled a record round of 61, subsequently scored a 73, resulting in a tie for fourth position. In related news, the third round of the LPGA’s Toto Japan Classic, scheduled for Saturday in Shiga, was called off due to heavy rainfall brought by Typhoon Kong-rey. The tournament will now be reduced to 54 holes, with the concluding round set for Sunday. Japan’s Hana Wakimoto currently leads with a score of 13 under par.
