Indie group Cast has verified their participation as a supporting act for Oasis’s “biblical” concerts in 2025, featuring the renowned rock band. The Liverpool-based ensemble, which rose to prominence during the Britpop movement of the 1990s, is the second opening act to be disclosed for Oasis’s forthcoming global reunion tour. The band, fronted by John Power, will accompany the beloved Manchester group for 19 already sold-out engagements across the UK and Ireland. Richard Ashcroft, formerly the lead vocalist of The Verve, has also been named as a supporting performer. Upon making the announcement, Cast stated they were “delighted to confirm that we will be supporting Oasis”. They further added, “We can’t wait to see you all for these biblical shows.” Liam and Noel Gallagher are scheduled to commence their much-anticipated 2025 reunion tour in July. This will mark the first time the Gallagher brothers have performed together since 2009. Starting in Cardiff, Oasis is also slated to perform in Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin. Power established Cast in 1991 after departing from the indie group The La’s, and the band subsequently achieved several top ten singles, including Sandstorm, Walkaway, Guiding Star, and Beat Mama. Their seventh album, Love Is The Call, was released in February. For the best of BBC Radio Merseyside, listeners can tune in on Sounds and follow BBC Merseyside on Facebook, X, and Instagram.
