An exhibition featuring caricatures has commenced its display within a telephone box on the Isle of Wight, which has been transformed into an art gallery. Adam Brown, a former art teacher who is presenting his first solo exhibition, has produced over 30 humorous drawings depicting individuals connected to the island. These artworks are being exhibited inside a decommissioned telephone box located on Lind Street in Ryde. Mr Brown commented on his approach, stating: “I try not to be too nasty. It’s really nice when you see someone coming towards you and you think oh yes, I know exactly how I’m going to exaggerate you and take the mickey.” The telephone box was purchased by Ryde Town Council and subsequently converted into a gallery by Zoe Barker and her friend Anmarie Bowler. The gallery, known as Re:Box, is currently hosting the caricature display as the latest in a series of exhibitions, all of which highlight the creations of local artists. Ms Barker noted: “The installations change every six to eight weeks and we’ve got a good local following. “It does feel a but cheeky calling it an art gallery, but it makes us chuckle.” Post navigation Royal Mint Unveils New £5 Coin Honoring Sir Paul McCartney Manchester Road Closures Expected for Christmas Parade
