Passengers using public transport in a section of Leicestershire encountered two bus stop signs containing spelling mistakes. On Leicester Road, outside Loughborough Grammar School, a bus stop was labeled “Grammer School.” Additionally, in the village of Quorn, the bus stop adjacent to the entrance of the Quorndon Fox pub displayed the name “Quornden Fox.” A Facebook post drawing attention to these spelling errors prompted many lighthearted comments. One individual posted: “So we’re getting da bus to Quorn den? Shame their ‘grammer’ isn’t up to scratch!!” The bus operator Kinchbus, which owns the signs, stated that the incorrect spellings were caused by “human error.” A spokesperson for Kinchbus informed the BBC, “We look after 1,000+ bus stop signs, so occasionally these things do happen.” The spokesperson further added, “As soon as we were made aware, it was rectified as soon as we possibly could.” The signs were subsequently replaced with the correct spellings on Wednesday evening. Alexa Derbyshire, representing the Loughborough Schools Foundation, indicated that the foundation had not previously known about the misspelling. She confirmed that the school had no intention of changing its name to correspond with the incorrect spelling, thereby preserving its 500 years of history. Derbyshire commented, “We have an excellent array of English teachers if anybody wants help,” and concluded, “Our boys spell grammar with an A R.” Post navigation Ipswich Community Media Relocates to Larger Town Centre Premises Home Education Surges Amidst Children’s Mental Health Crisis
