A bus collision with a tree, which reportedly caused its roof to be “taken clean off,” has resulted in two individuals being transported to the hospital. The Metropolitan Police reported that this event occurred around 10:00 GMT on Hedgemans Road in Dagenham, located in east London. Photographs of the scene circulated on social media platforms seemingly depicted the bus’s roof having been torn away. The Metropolitan Police stated that personnel from their force and the London Ambulance Service responded to the location, discovering two women with injuries who were subsequently transported to a medical facility as a precautionary measure. The police force further indicated that the injuries sustained were neither life-threatening nor expected to result in permanent changes. A local resident, Stevie Fletcher, recounted: “I heard sirens and looked out of my window to see emergency services just up the road. I went to have a look and the bus roof had been taken clean off, apparently by a tree.” Investigations by the police into the circumstances leading to the collision are ongoing.
