Commuters in East Sussex experienced an unusual sight on Thursday morning as Brighton station appeared as ‘Frighton’ on destination boards. Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) implemented this change to mark the Halloween period. Travellers were also treated to distinctive announcements from comedian and impressionist Luke Kempner. Among these was a Lord of the Rings-inspired message: “this Halloween shall not pass without a valid ticket”. Mr. Kempner stated: “I hope these impressions provide everyone with a fun, spooky surprise.” Stephen MacCallaugh, GTR’s head of stations, mentioned that previous Halloween-themed surprises had generated “great interaction.” He added, “‘Frighton’ was popular amongst customers, so we’ve decided to bring it to destination boards again, with the addition of spook-tacular special announcements at Brighton station.” Post navigation A40 closed after collision; motorists advised to divert New Metro Train Commences Service Following Extensive Delays
