Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler anticipates that new acquisition Diego Gomez will integrate into his first team squad without delay upon the Paraguay international’s transfer from Inter Miami to the Seagulls on 1 January. Commenting on his latest recruit, Hurzeler stated, “What he has is something special,” adding, “He has the right attitude towards football. He loves to play it. You can feel his passion every time you talk with him. You can see his passion in his eyes.” Hurzeler further observed, “When you see him playing for Paraguay and for Inter Miami, you see that he is ready to sprint and ready to make the last break to give everything for his club.” He emphasized the importance of these attributes for the club, stating, “That is something we need here. It is about having players with passion for football, the right attitude, and a willingness to work on themselves to improve and use every day to get better – and that is something he has inside of him.” Hurzeler concluded his remarks on Gomez’s character by saying, “That is something special for such a young player.” Addressing the potential adjustment period for the 21-year-old, who previously competed in Major League Soccer, as he transitions to the English top flight, Hurzeler noted, “We have some examples, from the summer, that show how challenging it is to come from a different league to the Premier League.” He elaborated on the integration process, stating, “It takes time – sometimes it goes faster and sometimes it goes a little bit slower.” Hurzeler acknowledged, “It will be a big challenge for him, but it is up to us – as a club and as a team – to fully integrate him as soon as possible.” Post navigation Kuhn: Celtic See Room for Improvement After 6-0 Victory Derry reiterates unchanged stance on Rory Gallagher’s potential return to management
