Brentford captain Christian Norgaard has avoided a three-match ban following the Bees’ successful appeal against the red card he received during their 0-0 draw with Everton on November 23. Norgaard was shown a straight red card at Goodison Park during the match. The Denmark international was sent off in the 41st minute at Goodison Park after a challenge on Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford while attempting to score in the six-yard box. The video assistant referee (VAR) recommended that on-field referee Chris Kavanagh review the incident on the pitch-side screen. After the review, Norgaard was issued a straight red card and would have faced a three-match suspension for serious foul play. However, Brentford won their appeal for wrongful dismissal, making their captain available to play on Saturday, November 30, at 15:00, when Thomas Frank’s side is scheduled to host Leicester City in the Premier League.
