Boston Borough Council, a local authority in Lincolnshire, has announced the temporary suspension of fees in its off-street car parks in the lead-up to Christmas. This initiative will provide complimentary parking from Friday, November 29, until Sunday, December 1. Subsequently, free parking will be available on every Saturday leading up to Christmas. Councillor Sandeep Ghosh indicated that the aim of this program is to foster a warm and inviting atmosphere within the town. He stated, “We want to make it as convenient as possible for people to come together and celebrate the joy of the season.” He further added, “Free parking is our way of giving back to the community and enhancing the festive spirit in Boston.” The council clarified that despite the suspension of fees, other parking infractions, such as not parking within a designated bay, will still be subject to enforcement. Charges for on-street parking will continue to apply.
