A border collie required rescue operations after becoming trapped on a mountain. According to the Keswick Mountain Rescue Team (KMRT), the incident occurred on Sunday around 13:30 GMT when a man was descending Crag Hill in the Lake District with his dog, and the animal became stranded on a ledge. The dog’s owner contacted mountain rescuers, as he was unable to safely reach the ledge independently. The team stated, “The dog was about 20ft (6m) up on wet slippery sloping rock.” Rescuers established a rope system to descend a team member to the collie, subsequently employing a specialized rescue bag to bring the animal down to safety. The entire rescue operation, involving 16 individuals, lasted four hours and 20 minutes. While descending the mountain, the team encountered and had to clear a fallen tree that was obstructing their path. The team commented, “The urgent call of dinner gave strength for team members to pull the offending limb aside.” Post navigation Daily Briefing: November 1, 2024 Abandoned Dog Nina Set for Christmas with New Family
