Following Larne’s 2-0 triumph against Glentoran, captain Cian Bolger expressed his hope that his team can “kick on” in the Irish Premiership. Goals from Andy Ryan and Bolger secured the win at the Oval, marking Larne’s return to winning ways after an inconsistent start to their title defense. Bolger conveyed his satisfaction that the Inver Reds successfully “grinded out” the victory, an outcome that supports their objective of ascending the league table. He told BBC Sport NI, “We’ve been disappointed the last few weeks with our league form so we’re happy with the three points.” Bolger added, “Glentoran started well and we had our backs against the wall the first 15-20 minutes, but I thought the lads defended well and we stood up to it.” While pleased with his goal contribution, Bolger emphasized greater satisfaction with Larne achieving a clean sheet, their first in five league matches. He further elaborated, “We spoke all week about getting back to keeping clean sheets, that is what we pride ourselves on the last couple of years and we’ve come away from that recently.” Bolger concluded this point by stating, “To get the clean sheet was the most pleasing thing, the goal was a bonus.” Additionally, Bolger was eager to commend his centre-back partner, Logan Wallace, who was playing his debut match. Bolger remarked, “I thought he was outstanding, it’s not an easy place to come for a senior player never mind your debut but I thought he was excellent, and he should be proud of himself.” Post navigation Lewis Hall Reflects on Chelsea Defeat and Newcastle’s Progress Benali Identifies “Positives” but Notes “Huge Amount of Work” for Southampton’s New Manager
