Blake Lively has initiated a legal complaint against her It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni, asserting claims of sexual harassment and a concerted effort to “destroy” her reputation. The legal document states that Ms. Lively accuses Mr. Baldoni and his associates of undermining her public image subsequent to a meeting where she was accompanied by her actor husband, Ryan Reynolds. This meeting was convened to confront “repeated sexual harassment and other disturbing behavior” attributed to Mr. Baldoni and a film producer. Mr. Baldoni’s legal representatives informed the BBC that these allegations are “categorically false.” They also stated that a crisis manager was engaged because Ms. Lively had reportedly threatened to impede the film’s progress if her demands were not satisfied. In the romantic drama, Ms. Lively portrays a character who enters a relationship with a seemingly charming yet abusive boyfriend, a role performed by Mr. Baldoni. The legal filing indicates that a meeting involving Ms. Lively, Mr. Baldoni, and other individuals associated with the movie’s production occurred on 4 January this year. Its purpose was to address “the hostile work environment” present on set. Ms. Lively’s husband, Deadpool star Mr. Reynolds, who was not cast in It Ends With Us, accompanied her to this confrontation, as detailed in the legal complaint, which precedes a formal lawsuit. Mr. Baldoni, aged 40, participated in the meeting in his roles as co-chairman and co-founder of Wayfarer Studios, the company responsible for producing the film. He also served as the film’s director. Within the legal complaint, Ms. Lively’s attorneys contend that both Mr. Baldoni and Jamey Heath, Wayfarer’s chief executive officer, exhibited “inappropriate and unwelcome behavior towards Ms Lively and others on the set of It Ends With Us.” The filing submitted to the California Civil Rights Department included a list of 30 demands concerning the alleged misconduct of the two individuals, presented during the meeting to facilitate the continued production of the film. The complaint specifies that among these demands, Ms. Lively, 37, sought an end to any further discussion of Mr. Baldoni and Mr. Heath’s past “pornography addiction” with Ms. Lively or other crew members, cessation of descriptions of their own genitalia to Ms. Lively, and “no more adding of sex scenes, oral sex, or on camera climaxing by BL [Blake Lively] outside the scope of the script BL approved when signing onto the project.” Additionally, Ms. Lively insisted that Mr. Baldoni cease claiming he could communicate with her deceased father. Ms. Lively’s legal team additionally alleges that Mr. Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios orchestrated a “multi-tiered plan” aimed at damaging her reputation. She asserts that this constituted “the intended result of a carefully crafted, coordinated, and resourced retaliatory scheme to silence her, and others from speaking out about the hostile environment that Mr Baldoni and Mr Heath created.” In response to the legal complaint, Mr. Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, stated on Saturday: “It is shameful that Ms Lively and her representatives would make such serious and categorically false accusations against Mr Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios and its representatives.” Mr. Freedman accused Ms. Lively of issuing multiple demands and threats, such as “threatening to not show up to set, threatening to not promote the film,” which he claimed would “ultimately leading to its demise during release, if her demands were not met.” He further alleged that Ms. Lively’s claims were “intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt and rehash a narrative in the media.” Through her attorneys, Ms. Lively provided a statement to the BBC, saying: “I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted.” She additionally denied that she or any of her representatives had disseminated or originated negative information concerning Mr. Baldoni or Wayfarer. Despite some critics suggesting it romanticized domestic violence, the film achieved box-office success. Shortly after its August release, Brandon Sklenar, another co-star, alluded to rumors of a disagreement between Ms. Lively and Mr. Baldoni in an Instagram post. Conjecture about a falling out intensified when they were not seen together on the red carpet. It Ends With Us depicts the narrative of Lily Bloom, a Boston florist portrayed by Ms. Lively, as she navigates a love triangle involving her charming yet abusive boyfriend, Ryle Kincaid, played by Mr. Baldoni, and her compassionate first love, Atlas Corrigan, played by Mr. Sklenar. The film is adapted from a best-selling novel by Colleen Hoover. The 45-year-old author has previously stated that her inspiration stemmed from the domestic abuse her mother experienced. During an interview with the BBC at the film’s August premiere, Ms. Lively expressed feeling the “responsibility of servicing the people that care so much about the source material.” The actress remarked, “I really feel like we delivered a story that’s emotional and it’s fun, but also funny, painful, scary, tragic and it’s inspiring and that’s what life is, it’s every single colour.” Ms. Lively, also credited as a producer, informed the BBC that she believed the film was created “with lots of empathy.” Ms. Lively stated, “Lily is a survivor and a victim and while they are huge labels, these are not her identity.” She added, “She defines herself and I think it’s deeply empowering that no one else can define you.” Post navigation Kent Police to Adopt New Protocol for Locating Missing Veterans Tributes Honor Man Killed in Road Collision on A17
