Wales and Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies is set to miss games due to a hamstring injury. He has appeared 11 times for Tottenham during the current season. Davies exited the match in the second half of Tottenham’s loss to Bournemouth on Thursday. The 31-year-old player has been a regular starter for Spurs, a team already contending with several defensive injury problems. Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou stated, “Looks like he’s done his hamstring,” He added, “He has played a lot of games because it is a position that we can’t rotate.” Postecoglou further commented, “He will obviously be out for a period of time now, so we will just have to wait and see. It’s kind of a consequence of us having the squad we do at the moment.” Davies has served as captain for Wales during the previous two international windows, stepping in due to Aaron Ramsey’s injury. Last month, Wales secured promotion to the Nations League’s top tier by defeating Iceland, though they are not scheduled to play again until March 2025. World Cup qualifying matches might commence during that international period; however, Wales is slated for friendly fixtures even if competitive games are not scheduled. Craig Bellamy’s squad will learn their World Cup qualifying adversaries when the draw occurs on Friday, 13 December.
