BBC Sport Honored as Broadcaster of the Year at 2024 Awards

Gabby Logan serves as a presenter for the BBC, covering various sports. BBC Sport earned the title of sports broadcaster of the year at the 2024 Broadcast Sport Awards ceremony. The department received commendation for establishing world-leading standards in its coverage. Additionally, Gabby Logan secured the presenter of the year award, and Clare Balding was honored with an outstanding contribution to sports broadcasting award. Michael Johnson, the former American track star who contributed to BBC Sport’s coverage of the 2024 Olympics in Paris, was named the pundit of the year. Laura Kenny also received a high commendation in the same category. Independent production company Whisper, a firm that counts BBC Sport among its clients, was awarded annual production of the year for its work on the BBC Women’s FA Cup final. “These incredible wins are a testament to the huge year of sport that the BBC has brought to audiences across the UK,” stated Alex Kay-Jelski, BBC director of sport. “We have world-class teams both on and off air bringing people together for the biggest sporting moments and delivering the highest standard of content year in year out, and for this to be recognised is something everyone can be proud of.”
