A barn fire situated close to a major road has led to warnings being issued for motorists and residents in the vicinity. Firefighters from Hampshire were dispatched around 16:00 GMT to address the conflagration in Ower, located near junction 2 of the M27. The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service reported that the fire originated from a camper van and subsequently extended to an adjoining barn, which held approximately 500 bales of hay. The service recommended that individuals in the immediate area keep their doors and windows shut because of the smoke, and cautioned drivers to anticipate potential reduced visibility on the motorway.
