Ballymena United is set to host either current holders Linfield or Glentoran in the BetMcLean Cup quarter-finals. This matchup could potentially see Ballymena United’s Ben Kennedy compete against Linfield’s Joel Cooper. The draw for the quarter-finals also established other pairings: Crusaders will play Dungannon Swifts in another fixture involving two Irish Premiership teams. Armagh City is scheduled to face Cliftonville. Additionally, Annagh United, who secured their spot by defeating Glenavon on penalties in the second round on Tuesday night, will host either Institute or Irish Premiership champions Larne. With the exception of Ballymena’s upcoming game against Linfield or Glentoran, all quarter-final ties are slated for 3 or 4 December. The second-round match between Linfield and Glentoran will take place at Windsor Park on 3 December, while the Institute versus Larne game is scheduled for 19 November. The semi-finals draw was also conducted on Wednesday. One semi-final will feature the winner of Annagh United, Institute, or Larne against the winner of Armagh City or Cliftonville. The other last-four tie will see the victor of Ballymena United, Linfield, or Glentoran play against Crusaders or Dungannon. These semi-final matches are scheduled for 13/14 January.
