Aurigny, Guernsey’s airline, has confirmed it will maintain its service to Exeter starting next summer, following an agreement for enhanced collaboration with the island’s airport. The updated flight schedule, commencing next summer, will feature services on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays. Previously, flights to Exeter had been temporarily halted in June because of reliability concerns experienced by the airline, before resuming operations in July. Nico Bezuidenhout, CEO of Aurigny, stated that the airline was “very pleased” to have restarted the well-received route. Ross Coppolo, managing director of Guernsey Ports, the airport operator, indicated that the airport collaborated with Aurigny to gain a clearer understanding of its operational requirements. He noted that among the adjustments made was the relocation of aerodrome maintenance activities to hours outside of standard operating times, aimed at supporting the flight schedules. Mr. Coppolo explained that this change would allow aircraft additional time to return to Guernsey daily, ensuring they can commence flights punctually the subsequent morning. Mr. Bezuidenhout commented: “We look forward to working more closely with Guernsey Ports in the months and years ahead to further improve strong air links for our communities.”
