The public has been advised to exercise caution when utilizing automated teller machines (ATMs) across Gloucestershire. This alert follows the discovery by police of devices intended for illicitly obtaining bank card information, which were affixed to two ATMs situated at separate sites. According to Gloucestershire Police, two individuals, aged 29 and 36, have been taken into custody on suspicion of possessing items intended for fraudulent activity. The arrests occurred on Wednesday, subsequent to the men being observed behaving suspiciously close to an ATM located on Court Road in Brockworth, as further stated by the force. Law enforcement officials reported that a card cloning device was discovered affixed to that particular machine. Subsequently, officers located the vehicle in which the two men had been traveling, uncovering cash, unactivated bank cards, and an additional cloning device within it. “Cloning devices were also found at an ATM on London Road in Charlton Kings, Cheltenham and it is believed that the men may have been travelling around Gloucestershire,” the force added. Individuals who suspect their personal details may have been compromised are advised to complete an online form available on the Gloucestershire Police website.
