An individual has been apprehended in connection with an alleged hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of another man. Northumbria Police reported that officers were dispatched to the A19 northbound, near Hylton Grange, Sunderland, on Tuesday morning. There, a man in his 40s was pronounced deceased. A man in his 20s was subsequently arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been released under investigation as further inquiries are conducted. The road section between Hylton Grange Interchange and Testo’s roundabout remained closed for the majority of the day.
