Law enforcement officials have apprehended an individual following the discovery of what they termed a “chop shop” within an industrial estate located in Norfolk. Authorities were notified of suspicious goings-on within a specific unit at Snetterton Business Park, situated on Harling Road, close to Attleborough, on Thursday. Inside, they located four vehicles and various automotive components believed to have been illicitly obtained. According to police, a man in his 20s was taken into custody in Norwich on Friday, facing allegations of theft, receiving stolen property, and possessing Class B or Class C controlled substances. He has since been released on conditional bail, set to expire in January. A spokesperson for the police force stated: “It’s believed the premises was being used as a ‘chop shop’ – where vehicles are illegally dismantled or ‘chopped up’ for parts and sold on for a profit.” Personnel have dedicated five days to dismantling the operation at the site, and investigations are currently in progress to facilitate the secure return of the vehicles, which originated from thefts in London, to their rightful owners.
