Arrest follows discovery of deceased elderly man at Dublin residence

An arrest has been made following the fatal assault of an elderly man in County Dublin. The victim, who was in his 70s, was pronounced deceased after being discovered unresponsive at a residence in Tobersool, near Balbriggan, shortly after 23:20 local time on Thursday. A man in his twenties has been taken into custody in connection with the inquiry. Gardaí have indicated they are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted. The scene has been preserved for examination.
