Train travelers are notified of upcoming disruptions resulting from ongoing engineering activities. Network Rail’s activities include track replacement near Newbury, flood mitigation efforts at Newbury Station, and enhancements to level crossings situated at Kintbury, Thatcham, and Midgham. Between November 11 and 14, rail services will be suspended entirely between Theale, located in Berkshire, and Westbury, in Wiltshire. Services operating between London Paddington and destinations in Devon or Cornwall are scheduled for diversion between Reading and Taunton, traveling through Swindon. A portion of these services will proceed via Bristol Temple Meads, while others will take the route through Melksham. Network Rail has stated that services running between London Paddington and Bedwyn will conclude their journeys at Theale. Additionally, the frequency of trains between Swindon and Westbury will be reduced as a consequence of the diverted services. Substitute bus services will be provided. Additional service interruptions are anticipated from December 10 to 12. Follow BBC Wiltshire on Facebook, X and Instagram.
