A festive run scheduled for Sunday anticipates the participation of hundreds of individuals adorned as elves. This marks the third iteration of the annual Mental Elf event, an initiative designed to generate funds for the Hull and East Yorkshire branch of Mind, a mental health charity. The event is set to commence at 10:30 GMT at East Park in Hull. Marie-Louise Robinson, who serves as the community fundraiser for the charity, characterized the run as a “celebration of community, wellbeing and Christmas cheer”. She further stated: “It’s the ideal way to embrace the holiday season while supporting those struggling with their mental health in the local community.” Individuals participating have the option to run, jog, or walk the 5km (3.1 miles) course according to their preferred pace. Wearing costumes is encouraged. Individuals interested in participating are able to register. Hull and East Yorkshire Mind offers support, guidance, and hope to individuals and families facing mental health challenges throughout Hull, East Yorkshire, and North East Lincolnshire.
