Southend-on-Sea City Council has announced the return of its annual outdoor Christmas event, Carols in the Park. Scheduled for 22 December at the Priory Park Bandstand on Victoria Avenue in Southend-on-Sea, the event aims to highlight the city’s “incredible talent” during the winter holiday period. Additionally, The Priory Brass is set to perform a one-hour concert at the same venue on 1 January, from 14:00 GMT to 15:00. Matt Dent, who serves as a councillor and the cabinet member for culture, tourism, and business, commented: “These events showcase the incredible talent we have in our city, and provide a chance for families and friends to gather and celebrate together.” For Carols in the Park on 22 December, The Southend Band will present Christmas melodies for one hour, commencing at 14:00. Both scheduled events will offer free admission. Dent further stated: “We are delighted to bring these wonderful concerts to Priory Park. It’s a fantastic occasion for the community to come together, enjoy the festive spirit, and create lasting memories.” He added, “The performances by The Southend Band and The Priory Brass are sure to fill the park with joy, making this festive season a great one. We look forward to seeing everyone there, sharing in the music and welcoming Christmas and the New Year!”
