This year, a charitable Christmas tree festival is relocating from Plymouth’s Theatre Royal to three different locations. The yearly Festival of Trees, organized by the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), is scheduled to be held at the National Marine Aquarium, Plymouth Pavilions, and Ocean Studios for the inaugural time. Annually, local businesses, organizations, and clubs collaborate to sponsor and adorn the trees, an effort that generated £12,000 for the children’s charity in 2023. Henry Street, the NSPCC’s community fundraising manager for the South West, expressed his pleasure regarding the new venues and urged individuals to sponsor a tree. Those who sponsor Christmas trees will have the opportunity to visit the venues for decoration, in preparation for the Barbican lights switch-on scheduled for Saturday, November 16. Subsequently, the trees will undergo judging, and awards will be presented to those deemed best decorated. Mr Street commented, “Plymouth’s Festival of Trees has always been very popular with people at Christmas and is a fantastic way to celebrate the festive season and help raise money for the NSPCC”. “Our services provide vital support for children and young people during the festive period including Childline which is available every day and night.” He further stated, “We hope that businesses, clubs and organisations across Plymouth will get involved and come along with their best Christmas tree decorating skills to ensure the Festival of Trees is sparkling.” Post navigation Beach Art Commemorates Military Service Devon’s Orange Elephant Landmark to Return to A38 After Refurbishment
