The charity operating an air ambulance service is set to officially include the city of Bath in its service area, coinciding with a change in its organizational name. The Wiltshire Air Ambulance charity has conducted over 100 missions in Bath this year. Executives from the charity have stated they have performed “more missions in the city than any other critical care resource”. The organization, now known as the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity, will maintain its service to Wiltshire while becoming the designated air ambulance provider for Bath. David Philpott, the air ambulance’s chief executive, commented, “It’s important to stress, nothing will change clinically, we will continue to be there for the people of Wiltshire and Bath.” He further elaborated, “Our helicopter can fly to Bath’s city centre and the surrounding villages in just four minutes and over the last two years, Bath has been our second most attended area. We also transfer more patients to the Royal United Hospital in the city than any other hospital,” he added. The charity has been operational for 35 years and relocated its base in 2018 to the outskirts of Trowbridge. This move was made to enable rapid responses to incidents within the city centre and its surrounding villages. Critical care paramedic Craig Wilkins expressed, “As a Bath resident, I’m especially proud to work for Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity and be there to respond to emergencies across our communities.” Post navigation Surgical Error Leads to Life-Threatening Bowel Injury for Patient Public Health Agency CEO Acknowledges Deficiencies at UK Covid Inquiry
