Air accident investigators have initiated an inquiry into an aircraft crash in Fife that resulted in the death of a 50-year-old pilot. The individual passed away following the descent of his light aircraft into a field adjacent to Fife Airport around 11:30 on Monday. The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) announced that a team of inspectors would attend the location to collect evidence for a safety inquiry. Police Scotland confirmed that no other persons were harmed in the crash, and investigations into the occurrence are continuing. A rescue helicopter was dispatched to the crash site, and specialist units from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were also present at the scene on Monday.
