Charges of assault have been brought against a man and a woman subsequent to a baby boy being discovered in a critical condition. According to Merseyside Police, the infant was discovered unresponsive at a residence in Wirral around Sunday lunchtime. Both a 36-year-old male and a 33-year-old female have been indicted for inflicting grievous bodily harm and wounding with intent. They previously appeared before magistrates and have since been held in custody. Law enforcement officials responded to the dwelling following reports expressing apprehension regarding the infant’s well-being. The baby was transported urgently to a hospital after on-site assessment of his injuries, and his state was characterized as critical, the police force stated.
