An additional murder arrest has been confirmed by police following a fatal stabbing in Plymouth. Devon and Cornwall Police were summoned to reports of a stabbing on Cambridge Road at approximately 14:30 GMT on Monday. The authorities reported that Shane Jamie Sweet, 36, from Plymouth, died at the scene. They also stated that a 20-year-old man was apprehended on suspicion of murder in the Stratford area of London on Thursday, and he currently remains in custody at Exeter police station. Police had previously announced that five individuals were arrested but were subsequently released from custody after assisting with inquiries. Detective Chief Inspector Steve Fleetwood indicated that the force is not “currently seeking anyone else in connection to the investigation”. He further stated, “I understand that a serious incident of this nature will cause concern within the community. I can confirm that this is being treated as an isolated incident.
