Adam Hose, a batter for Worcestershire, has signed a new three-year contract, committing him to the county until the conclusion of the 2027 season. His highest first-class score for Worcestershire stands at 90. The 32-year-old initially joined the Pears from rival club Warwickshire on a three-year agreement prior to the 2023 season. Since his transfer to New Road from Edgbaston, motivated by the prospect of playing more red-ball cricket, Hose has accumulated 1,092 first-class runs across 41 innings, maintaining an average of 28. During his tenure with Worcestershire, he has contributed to the club’s promotion to the top division of the County Championship and subsequently to a sixth-place finish in Division One in 2024. “I’m really happy to sign the contract,” Hose stated. “It is giving a fair chunk of the next part of my career to the club. They were first to come in when I was looking to move [from Warwickshire] and offered all-formats cricket which was the reason for me leaving clubs. For them to back me and show faith in me like they have done over the last couple of years has been brilliant.” A regular participant in T20 franchise leagues globally, Hose is approaching 700 runs for the Pears in the 20-over format, with an average of 32 and three half-centuries recorded to date. Despite not yet scoring a red-ball century for Worcestershire, his 526 runs last season were instrumental in the club avoiding relegation during a campaign significantly affected by repeated flooding and the unexpected passing of spinner Josh Baker at the age of 20 in May. “Obviously [it was] a very difficult season last year in terms of things off the field,” Hose commented. “But I think it shows amazing character within the playing group and the club itself that we had such a strong finish, especially within the red-ball side. I’m really happy to commit myself to the club.”
