Four years prior, Peter Routledge was engaging in online shopping following a festive gathering when he swiftly recognized a significant misjudgment: he had acquired an inflatable Santa Claus that surpasses the height of his residence in Poppleton. The enormous decoration rapidly became a prominent topic of conversation in the community. Currently, Mr. Routledge and his wife, Katy, utilize the display for philanthropic endeavors. Mrs. Routledge commented: “It brings so much happiness to the village and a lot to people in York as well. He’s also done some good work for charities and we also collect food for a local food bank.” Area residents congregate to view the colossal Santa.
