Aberdeen goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov has been ruled out for a period of up to six weeks following a hamstring injury. Mitov had played the opening 45 minutes against Hearts on Sunday. The 27-year-old Mitov was substituted by Ross Doohan, 26, during the half-time interval of Sunday’s 1-1 Scottish Premiership match against Hearts, which took place at Tynecastle. Manager Jimmy Thelin commented on the situation, stating: “He has been really good but we have a squad and we have to find solutions and stay positive.” Thelin further added: “Ross came in in the last game and did well and we are confident he is going to do a good job for us.” Since his transfer to Aberdeen from St Johnstone in June, the Bulgaria international has participated in 20 matches, achieving seven clean sheets. Thelin’s team is scheduled to host Premiership leaders Celtic on Wednesday at 20:00 GMT. Aberdeen currently lags four points behind Brendan Rodgers’ team, having played one additional game. Left-back Jack MacKenzie is nearing his return to play, but will not be available for the upcoming match against Celtic.
