Motorists should anticipate potential delays on the A64 this weekend as National Highways commences a project to enhance the road’s drainage system. This maintenance operation, situated at Crambeck in North Yorkshire, is scheduled to begin on Friday. Its objective is to expand the capacity of the drains, thereby mitigating the accumulation of standing water on the roadway. According to National Highways, the project, spanning the section of road between York and Scarborough, is projected to conclude by November 18. However, the agency noted that adverse weather conditions might impact this timeline. Temporary traffic signal installations will be in place at the A64 junctions of Castle Howard Station Road and Greets House Road crossroads, which are located in proximity to the Jamie’s Cragg caravan park. The governmental body recommended that drivers allocate additional travel time for their trips. It also stated that updates regarding the project’s advancement would be disseminated via National Highways’ social media platforms.
