Officials have confirmed that a section of the A1104, connecting Mablethorpe and Alford, will undergo daytime closure due to repair works being scheduled earlier than planned. Lincolnshire County Council announced that the road segment will be inaccessible to traffic between 08:30 and 16:30 GMT on weekdays, for a duration of up to three weeks. The execution of these works is contingent on suitable weather conditions. The closures will impact portions of both the A1104 and the A1031, with alternative routes established for motorists. Karen Cassar, assistant director for highways, explained that conducting the work during daytime hours will “ensure suitably warm temperatures”, which is favourable for road laying. She further stated: “Making this change now will help ensure the project stays on track for completion mid-December.” The daytime closures on the A1104 will also affect local transport services. Specifically, the PC Coaches service 50 will no longer serve several villages, including Legbourne, South Reston, North Reston, Withern, and Maltby le Marsh. Residents impacted by this change are advised to arrange travel using the Callconnect bus service. However, school buses operating through the affected vicinity will continue their normal schedules throughout the period of the works.
