A penalty has been imposed on a woman following an incident in which three lambs sustained injuries during a dog attack within the Yorkshire Dales. Payton Eastham, aged 26, along with her co-accused Ryan Iveson, aged 32, were camping in Worton Bottoms with their two dogs when this event occurred on May 31. Ms. Eastham, residing in Breconbar, Bainbridge, initially contested the accusation but subsequently admitted guilt to the charge of being responsible for a dog that worried livestock. At a prior session of York Magistrates’ Court, she received an order to provide £380 in compensation and incur a £120 fine. It was disclosed during an earlier court proceeding that the two dogs involved, identified as a Staffy XL Bully cross and a Rottweiler Husky cross, were neither leashed nor muzzled. These dogs had traversed a river and entered the sheep field, where they proceeded to chase and injure the lambs. Mr. Iveson, whose address is South Parade, Northallerton, also entered a guilty plea to the identical charge during a court hearing held in October, and he was mandated to pay a £200 fine.
