Two individuals have received prison sentences for their participation in a riot that occurred outside a hotel in Staffordshire. Danny Hollick, aged 41, of Tamworth, was given a sentence of two years and two months, while Ian Green, 55, from Kettlebrook, Tamworth, was incarcerated for two years. The sentencing for both men took place at Stafford Crown Court on Monday. They had previously pleaded guilty to violent disorder. These sentencings raise the cumulative count of individuals charged in connection with this summer’s unrest in Staffordshire to 63. Of these, 45 have been convicted and 29 have received sentences, as reported by Staffordshire Police. According to the police force, Hollick was observed throwing a substantial rock at an officer in Tamworth on 4 August and persistently confronting those positioned on the front line. Concurrently, Green instructed individuals to target the entrances of the Holiday Inn Express in Tamworth and repeatedly impeded police officers who were on duty at the scene on 4 August. A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police stated that the force is still meticulously reviewing evidence with the aim of prosecuting individuals accountable for the violent disturbances that occurred in Stoke-on-Trent on 3 August and in Tamworth on 4 August. They urged members of the public to provide any information that could assist their ongoing inquiries.
