The RSPCA has rescued a dog suffering from stab wounds that was found tethered to a lamp-post. The animal, which its rescuers named Comet, was located in Bilston, Wolverhampton, according to the charity. Comet was transported to the RSPCA’s Birmingham Animal Hospital to receive urgent veterinary care for what appeared to be three wounds. Bal Dhamia, an Animal Rescue Officer, stated: “It’s heartbreaking to see a dog abandoned with painful injuries in this way.” She observed that Comet was “very subdued and looked exhausted” upon her arrival and showed reluctance to eat or stand. The RSPCA also reported receiving information about a slim white man who reportedly tied the dog to the lamp-post around 20:00 GMT on 9 December, and the organization is seeking to locate this individual.
